Laborer/Material Stager
Superior, WI
Assists in various shop activities and duties while learning about the business with the intention of becoming a full-time Genesis employee upon graduation from technical school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products via manually or forklift onto or from pallets, skids, or trucks.
- Delivers parts or stock to designated work areas.
- Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines and overhead pipes, using brushes, air hoses, or a steam cleaner.
- Sweeps and cleans floors, using water hose or floor scrubber.
- Cleans around work areas in shop and also outside clean up.
- Cleans screens and filters.
- Cleans shears.
- Separates metal shavings, chips, scrap materials and trash and places them in appropriate bins for pickup/resale.
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order or shipping order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments either manually or using an overhead crane and lift trucks.
- Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arranges boxes, material, and other industrial equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
- Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Stages shears daily.
- Picking up parts and cylinders.
- Grinds and chips off excess weld, slag and spatter
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, procedures, etc.
- Valid driver’s license

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
